TukTuk Designs is an exciting children’s clothing line designed by Hansa, a New York mom of two young boys, who left the corporate world after a decade to marry her creativity with her passion for raising her sons. The idea to launch her own brand of boys’ shirts came about when shopping for her boys. Unlike the endless choices available for girls in every color, texture and print, Hansa found clothes shopping for her boys incredibly boring. The only choices were predictable solids and checks and stripes; none of which expressed individuality or creativity.
Born in South Asia, Hansa has always been influenced by and drawn towards vivid colors and textures. She decided to design and tailor some shirts with unique prints which her boys loved and soon strangers were asking where they could buy them. The idea for an exclusive line of boys’ shirts was born, and her little project turned into a full-fledged business of designing and producing high quality tailored shirts. The brand name was inspired by her sons’ obsession with the zippy, brightly colored three-wheeled taxis they loved to ride while on vacation in Thailand.
TukTuk Designs now offers a line of globally-inspired, bold and unique prints in vibrant colors and classic styles. Each button-down shirt is made with the same attention and subtle details as high-end designer men’s shirt. They’re perfect for special occasions, play dates or even every day wear.
“I want to spark the imagination and curiosity and help boost the confidence of little minds, by creating clothes that are fun and distinctive, but also practical and made to last. But most of all, I want boys to be excited about dressing up.”
